What will my child learn with Mika's "Phonics Skills"?

The initial interest in letters and words is specifically encouraged and the basic knowledge for learning to read and write is strengthened.
The game "Phonics Skills" particularly promotes phonological awareness. This refers to the ability to detach oneself from the meaning of language and understand how words and sentences are structured. Mika's "Phonics Skills" focuses on the following areas: rhymes, long and short words, syllables, initial sounds, and letters.

Rhymes

Rhymes are an important building block for language development in preschool and elementary school children. They are characterized by individual words that can be distinguished by only one or a few letters.

Syllables

The "Syllables" chapter focuses on the structure of individual words, primarily training reading and listening comprehension. Your child will recognize how a word is structured, be able to clearly distinguish its parts, and thus learn how to put words together.

Long & short words

When preparing for reading and writing, it's important to distinguish between the content and the visual appearance of words and letters, and to consider them separately. Your child will learn to pay attention to the structure of a word and to distinguish between words based on their structure.

Initial sounds & letters

Sounds are a fundamental part of every language and therefore an important milestone in school preparation. Here, your child will explore the sounds of initial sounds using the animal initial sound chart developed by EDURINO.
